Our first surprise location was Freeland Park. Once we arrived, we got an arrival patch and code and began investigating our second puzzle! This puzzle’s task was to build the PERFECT s’more. This puzzle took us awhile because there were so many different combos we could make, there were:

- 3 types of marshmallows (Regular, Coconut, and Strawberry)

- 3 types of graham cracker (Honey, Cinnamon, and Chocolate)

- 4 types of chocolate (Hershey, Crunch, Cookies and Crème, and Reeces)

- 3 levels of marshmallow ‘toastedness’ (none, light, burnt)

This broad array of possible combinations made us look at the puzzle in a more analytic way than brute-force trying every single combination. This puzzle was really a first testament to how we decided to work as a team- making sure nobody got frustrated and that everyone was participating in a meaningful role for the team.

Eventually, after many iterations, we showed the correctly configured s’more to the s’more experts and were given the peak girl scout cookie - the Samoa. Tied to this cookie was a clue, and when we typed that in it told us, “Keep going. What was this cookie attached to?” After typing in a couple wrong answers (ribbon, cookie,  samoa)… we finally thought of this year’s Disney Princess movie, Moana. That was the answer.
