Knot Bad

Knot Bad is the first puzzle of the day I participated in. There were two for the team before this, but after getting 2 hours of sleep, I decided to sleep in the car for those two puzzles to invest in the rest of the day.

This puzzle took place at The Old Country Buffet! We were given brunch and it was wonderful to have a hot meal with unlimited food after the long Saturday we had.

To do the actual puzzle, we were given a bunch of long fabric pieces that were sewn together with small knots tied onto different strands. We counted the number of knots and the strings' corresponding colors. The numbers of knots were used to index into the letters of the color. With this information, we were able to get a lot of four letter words and created a word ladder with the similar words together. After creating this ladder, we got a message to untie one of the knots of a specific coloured strand. This knot had the codeword on it that we typed into Spiderdog!

After completing this puzzle, we headed out to Luther Burbank Park.
